This is our basement staircase. It doesn't need to be pretty but it NEEDED to be organized and it really needed to feel clean. To me, peeling pukey pink paint, exposed unnecessary insulation that rained down everytime someone walked up stairs, and piles of junk on the staircase landing are so headache inducing that I avoided fixing this space up for about 2.5 years. Why do we put off work? The end result is worth it. Not only do I have more storage but my farmhouse basement stairwell is no longer gross and dirty. Now I nap. Omg it's been a hot minute. Life will do that to you. I give up on this bathroom BTW. The only thing that has gone to plan to date is stripping the paint off the pocket door. Should have started and stopped there. Long before I stripped the cabinet three times or broke the wood knob in half and had to glue it back together. Or before I ripped the drywall pulling off the trim. Another box I need to tick. I'm feeling the February blues this week and it's only January. 😭😭😭 Send me your sunny vibes. Today I finally shared an in-depth tutorial on how to install a wood shim backsplash. It's all in my stories and I will save it to my highlights for future references. I'm glad this project is finally done. It was the last piece of the kitchen makeover, which began almost one year ago! . It's amazing how much time a project can take but I'm really happy with how everything turned out. You could use this same idea to do all sorts of stuff. I've been quiet on the Instafront eh? Honestly I'm just so peacefully happy to have the house de-christmafied that I've been kind of buzzing on that. Also, lots of medical appointments this week. Saw an arythmia specialist today who is overseeing my genetic testing. My three vials of blood are being shipped off to the U.S. for processing.
